Real Skills, for Real People, living Real Lives.

You know the world’s an unpredictable and sometimes dangerous place. You also know that you should take steps to become more self-reliant, to take better care of yourself and your family, and to prepare for the likely risks you face.

Of course you have a lot of other things to do, and preparing to keep you and your family safe often takes a back seat to daily living. You don’t want to waste your time, money, or energy taking classes that don’t fit your lifestyle or address the threats you really face. That’s where the Personal Security Institute can help!

We focus on skills that actually fit into your daily life, be it urban, suburban or rural. What do you do when you’re standing at a food cart, trying to decide between beef or chicken in your sandwich, when you’re suddenly surprised by someone threatening your life? How do you deal with an unanticipated incident on your homestead, one where you need to run into the house to grab your rifle? How do you defend yourself inside of your home if you don’t happen to have a handgun on your hip?

These are the sort of real-life scenarios that other schools ignore; at the Personal Security Institute, we make them our primary focus. That’s why we say that we teach Real Skills, for Real People, living Real Lives. We don’t believe you need to become a wild-eyed survivalist or some kind of militia character just to keep yourself safe.

At PSI we give you the information and the skills you really need to know, skills you can use NOW if the unthinkable should happen. Our classes are based on fact and evidence, not speculation or fantasy. We teach by telling you the why and how, and then help you apply that information to building your skill set. We don’t pit you against other students in contrived competitions, but instead help you to rise to your own level of competency.

If you’re looking for a weekend fantasy camp, we’re probably not for you. But if you’re looking for real education, you’ve come to the right place. We’re teachers first and foremost!
